We got some Feedback on Mastodon:

"either write a short story based on the concept (seems manageable) or scale it massively down to something community-managebale.

One needs to protoype early. A game that tries to archive it's final form from the very beginning is doomed to fail. The gameplay of Splatoon was perfected way when the game looked like this (see attachment)"

"every mario level first existed & was played out on a sheet of graph paper. One needs to start as small as possible, test that, discuss that and then shape and release it based on community feedback.

Wanting to archive the final form is what doomed StarCitizen. I think noone suspects SC to succeeed anymore.

If you're really passionate about this concept then maybe meetup with a few game devs (maybe a small circle of 3 games), sharpen the concept and then try crowd funding."

"Fact is, you need a lot of assets and logic for this. There's noone who can make universally appliable assets (I mean sure, there are - but then your game would feel like a remix).

Unity3D is actually very easy to use. But as said, logic and assets require huge effort investment.
For the more homegrown sort of games there's always RPG Maker. But it's 2D and has no multiplayer support AFAIK"
